Oct 25 2010 | Shanghai: EXPOnential

Today is the last day of our event prep and the first evening of official events. Because of the busy-ness, I decided to post more photos from yesterday's visit to the World Expo -- and offer a little contest!

Digitized horse and buggy

Funny sign seen outside the women's room.

SEEN AT THE UZBEKISTAN PAVILION: Boy and girl fondling an ear of corn

Strangest pavilion design.

I'll bring a prize from China if you can identify this pavilion at the expo. If there's more than one correct answer in a week, I'll accept the funniest description (my first thought was goiter with a tumor).

Can anybody guess which country the pavilion belongs to? :)

To me it looks like a testicle with the inside popping out, but a guy probably wouldn't find that funny.

It evokes for me an emerging world of transparency or openness with firm structure. My guess: China!

It represents the dialogue between humanity and nature, the earth and sky, as well as the past and the future. I've sent the country to Dave via e-mail.

Wow Jason got it absolutely correct, the answer was Israel. Anybody else want a shot to win most creative entry?

I've been thinking about this. It looks like Jodi Foster's Contactmobile landed in a drift of snow. And I'm sticking with it!

Wait a minute! I want credit for my guess. I'm not anonymous!

What I really want to know is why there's an Amish horse & buggy in China? Since they don't fly how did they get there?

Mom, what's weirder is that it seems to be a digitized and smooshed representation of an Amish horse and buggy... Are they against digital cameras and lossy compression?
